WELCOME

As Administrator of Mother Angeline McCrory Manor, I welcome you to our Web site and thank you for paying us a visit.

Mother Angeline McCrory Manor, located in Columbus, Ohio welcomed its first residents in April 2005, carrying over the wonderful traditions and quality of care that existed at St. Rita’s and St. Raphael’s Homes in Columbus since the late 1940’s.

Due to the age of these original facilities, the buildings needed to be replaced if the Sisters were to continue their ministry of caring for the elderly in the Columbus Diocese.

Through the help and generosity of Bishop James Griffin, this was made possible on an eight acre tract of land adjacent to the St. Therese Retreat Center on the Far East side of Columbus. This 147 bed skilled nursing facility makes possible a full continuum of care on a campus where there already existed The Villas at St. Therese Assisted and Independent Living.

Mother Angeline McCrory Manor is the only facility in the entire Columbus, Ohio Diocese with the comforting presence of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm and it is named after their Foundress, Mother Angeline Teresa McCrory. This order of Sisters, whose Motherhouse is located in Germantown, New York, provides loving care for the elderly in 25 facilities located in nine different states. On a daily basis, the Sisters and the dedicated staff at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor live their motto, “The Difference is Love”.

For the Carmelite Sisters, serving at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor is a work of love and the design of this building reflects the Sisters’ philosophy of providing a residential, non-institutional environment that is as home-like as possible. The tradition of spiritually–motivated and wholistic care, established and nurtured so well at St. Rita’s and at St Raphael’s over the years, promises to continue and to thrive in this new environment.

If you, or someone you love, is in need of long term care or short term rehabilitation, this may be the facility for you. We invite you to speak with us so that we can help you plan appropriately. If you want to work in a caring environment where you can make a difference in someone’s life each day and you want to enjoy the colleagues you work with, this is definitely the facility for you. Please contact our Human Resources Department. If you are inclined to donate some of your time or talent to a worthwhile endeavor, we need you! Please contact our Director of Volunteers.

We invite you to visit with us awhile and browse through the following pages. You will learn a lot more about Mother Angeline McCrory Manor and about the charism of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm.
